350 Nautilus Card Case

$22.00
Minus Plus

Chambered Nautilus stainless steel case with hand poured epoxy. Not just for business cards, but perfect for carrying ID, credit cards or a bit of cash. Just slip in a pocket, purse or briefcase. 2.5 x 3.75 inches. Finished and decorated in the USA.

Original artwork by Nina Gentile, rendered in gouache and colored pencils for the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

The Chambered Nautilus has fascinated scientists, mathematicians, and poets. It's most unique feature is a spiral-coiled, chambered shell. A newly hatched nautilus has a shell divided into four small chambers. As it grows, the Nautilus adds new chambers - adults have 30 chambers. As far back as the ancient Greeks, the shell of the Chambered Nautilus has been a symbol of perfection and can be described mathematically as a logarithmic spiral - a special kind of curve which appears in nature (and can also be seen in cyclones and spiral galaxies!)
