Box Jelly Glass Paperweight. Ever open a window or door and all your papers go flying? Paperweights have been around for generations and they still have an important job! This large glass cabochon paperweight is hand decorated, has a felted bottom, and is a perfect desk accessory for your home office or favorite student. 3” x 1.4” and decorated in the USA by Lucy Lu. Gift box included.

Original artwork: © 2005 TwoBee, LLC rendered in color pencil for Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Box Jellyfish (Chironex fleckeri) also called sea wasps and marine stingers, live primarily in coastal waters off Northern Australia and throughout the Indo-Pacific. They are pale blue and transparent in color and get their name from the cube-like shape of their bell. Box jellies are unique among jellyfish. They have the ability to move rather than just drift, and also have 24 eyes (although without a central nervous system or brain, scientists aren’t sure how they process what they see!) Chironex fleckeri is the largest and deadliest box jellyfish and is considered to be the most venomous of all marine creatures on Earth.
